Really like the metaphor of pruning a tree. While reading I imagined the ways in which my own branches reach for the love and affections of others while simultaneously trying to give shade to made those that don't even really want it. Great read!

Oof, I love that addition, Stacy. How much are we giving with our branches that hasn't even been asked for!! I'm going to have to chew on that one for a bit.

Your clarity is so powerful…as is recognizing that the things you were drawn to create were things that would benefit you the most!

Oye, this is so important + timely. Thank you, Jesie, for the affirmations, reminders, example you are naturally 'practicing,' and encouragement. . . truly 💛

Thank YOU for, Laura! May we be in a blessed and peaceful season of pruning and rightsizing.

Really enjoyed this! I’ve also been pruning, and I was shocked at how receptive my circles have been when I share what my exact capacity is. I’ve not been as active in group texts or voice memos, but it’s made the FaceTimes and in person hangs so much more meaningful. That wasn’t something I expected, but it feels right, just like the rightsizing 💚

Yes! I love how you mention how much more meaningful the connections do feel when they are "right sized." I also appreciate how you talked about being shocked at the reception of your boundaries and needs. I needed that reminder. The reminder that maybe people who love us also want us to do the rightsizing!
